Get Ready for More Expensive Health Care

In the tidal wave of bad laws and policies that gush forth from the Trump crime family’s administration, it is easy to lose sight of what is important.  The plan is to not only distract people with outrageous statements and acts; it’s to make people unsure of what’s true and what’s not.   Time to read this article  again about how this political strategy is used to manipulate people.

Health care is the Achilles heel of the politicians, because it is hard to warp reality around it.  “Immigrants are committing huge numbers of crimes and are costing us money” is a statement that requires accurate, objective information sources and some actual thinking to know  it isn’t true.   Health care affects every single person directly and personally.  When the medicine or care you need costs $$$$, you have facts on hand.  U.S. health care costs are higher than other countries, the rate of increase is high and access is getting worse.  DC Reports’ excellent article lays out why our health care system is getting worse, thanks to our current administration.

Prudent oligarchs know this egregious increase in cost and lack of care can’t go on forever.  They are coming up with their own plans to rein in costs.  But you can bet your last dollar their emphasis will be on what saves their businesses money and not what is best for people.

A freely competitive, for-profit health care system cannot control costs.  It is simply impossible.  That’s why all other developed countries have a different system.    The only economically sensible choice for the U.S. is a universal,  non-profit, single-payer system that everyone pays into, essentially, Medicare-for-All.   It is clearly something that can be done as the Physicians for a National Health Program documents.  We should not accept anything less as a solution for health care in this country.
