Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Written by

Each year on the third Monday of January, we celebrate the life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The national holiday honoring Dr. King is an occasion to celebrate his life and a day to continue his work toward nonviolent social change in America and the world. It is a time for the nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought and a time to remember his message of change through nonviolence.

I encourage you to use this occasion as an opportunity to carry on Dr. King's unfinished work, the fight for the freedom, equality, peace and the dignity of all races and people.

The Space Coast Progressive Alliance will join The Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition Monday, January 21, 2013 celebrating the life of MLK and participate in their annual Peace March.

All are invited to join us 9am at the King Library, 955 E. University Blvd. March ends at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 Hibiscus Blvd.

The Macedonia Baptist Church, 2729 Lipscomb St. Melbourne will host a commemorative service honoring Martin Luther King Jr. 6pm Sunday January 20, 2013.
